The global hunger for clean, traceable food has created a massive market for Tuyen Quang’s agricultural sector. The province is seizing this opportunity by executing a strategic shift: moving production away from volume and toward value, brand equity, and global standards. This narrative details how local farmers and cooperatives are leveraging heritage assets, like ancient Shan Tuyet tea and specialized oranges, to build high-quality supply chains, attract investment, and establish a competitive edge in both domestic and international markets.

Quality and Transparency as the Cornerstone

The global demand for clean and sustainable products is opening up a massive market opportunity, and Tuyen Quang is seizing it by centering its strategy on quality and traceability.

A prime example is the Shan Tuyet ancient tea in Cao Bo commune. The centuries-old heritage tea trees, cultivated across over 1,000 hectares, adhere strictly to the "Three-No" principle: No chemicals, no growth stimulants, and no pesticides. This commitment to purity yields over 1,800 tons of fresh buds annually, valued at more than 32 billion VND, demonstrating that quality is the number one competitive advantage.

Standardization and Supply Chain Expansion

The rapid transition is evident in the business model of local cooperatives, which focus on strict input control:

Dried Oranges (Yen Lam Green Agricultural Cooperative - HTX): The HTX plans to acquire approximately 200 tons of fresh Sanh and Vinh oranges for the 2025–2026 season. The input standard is uncompromising: 100% of the raw material area must meet VietGAP standards, ensuring flavor and color consistency. The HTX has proactively linked with over 20 households to establish a stable 100-hectare supply chain.
Market Outreach: To overcome price volatility and weather challenges, cooperatives are actively seeking distribution channels, expanding consumption to key markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa.

Asserting Global Position Through Branding and Standards

Tuyen Quang is systematically asserting its position on Vietnam's agricultural map by investing heavily in trademark protection and traceability.

Expert Endorsement: Nguyen Thanh Dong, Director of PY.NESYT Swallows’ Nest Company, noted: "Tuyen Quang’s products are well-invested with clear labels and traceability. This opens up great opportunities for enterprises and cooperatives to collaborate in bringing Vietnamese agricultural products further into the global market.”
Branding Achievements: The province boasts 12 products certified with Geographical Indications and over 450 OCOP products rated 3 stars or higher (including two national 5-star products).
Key Products: Noteworthy items include Shan Tuyet tea, Ha Giang mint honey, Quan Ba seedless persimmon, Sanh orange, Soi Ha pomelo, and turmeric starch.
International Standards: The province prioritizes production following VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and Organic standards to enhance the value and competitiveness of its agricultural output.

Policy Support and Global Vision

Hoang Minh Chien, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade), Ministry of Industry and Trade, affirmed continued governmental commitment. Support activities will focus on: Connecting consumption to major domestic distribution systems. Boosting promotion at international trade fairs and Vietnamese product weeks abroad. Synchronizing solutions for developing e-commerce and implementing digital transformation. Capacity building for enterprises and cooperatives in market access and export skills.

This strategy not only generates economic value and attracts investment but also contributes significantly to job creation and sustainable income growth for local residents.
